The 2026 China Road Cycling League (Beijing · Changping) and the International Road Cycling Challenge around Changping concluded successfully in Changping, Beijing.
On May 17th, the 2026 China Road Cycling League (Beijing · Changping) came to a successful conclusion in Changping District, Beijing. The event lasted for four days, and a total of 28 professional and amateur club teams from Beijing, Shanghai, Yunnan, Shandong and other places, as well as individual cyclists signed up to participate. The event features individual time trials, mixed team time trials, urban circuit elimination races, and individual races. The International Road Cycling Challenge around Changping was also successfully held during the same period.
This website’s events are hosted by the Chinese Cycling Association and the People’s Government of Changping District, Beijing. They are organized by the Changping District Sports Bureau, the Changping District Culture and Tourism Bureau, and Beijing Changping Culture and Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd., and executed by Wanhongfei (Beijing) Sports Culture Co., Ltd.
On May 17th, a grand opening ceremony was held at Nanshao Cultural Square at 8 a.m. Gan Jingzhong, Secretary of the Changping District Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Future Science City; Sun Weimin, President of the Chinese Cycling Association; Shi Jiangping, Second – Class Inspector of the Beijing Sports Bureau; Leng Qiangtian, Deputy Secretary of the Changping District Party Committee; Ma Chunxiu, Deputy District Mayor of Changping District; Zhao Shiwei, Member of the Party Working Committee of the Future Science City in Changping District, Deputy Director of the Management Committee, and Deputy District Mayor; Ma Yuanhong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Changping District Sports Bureau attended the opening ceremony.
On the first competition day, the men’s and women’s individual time trials were held respectively. The starting and finishing points of both events were set at Liucun Primary School. The men’s race was 43.8 kilometers long, while the women’s race was 35.8 kilometers. In the end, Qu Chengjun from the Heilongjiang Team won the men’s individual time trial championship. Luo Pengpeng from the Hunan Team and Han Shunyuan from the Tanguan Bianchi Team took the second and third places respectively. In the women’s individual time trial, Zhu Shimeng from the Ningxia Ruibao Cycling Team won the championship. Chen Si from the Henan Badirui Cycling Team and Chen Sining from the Liaoning Team ranked second and third.
On the second competition day, it was the mixed team time trial. The Henan Badi Rui Cycling Team won the championship of the mixed team time trial with a result of 58 minutes and 8 seconds. The Shanghai Team won the second place, and the Liaoning Team won the third place.
On the third competition day, the men’s and women’s urban circuit elimination races were held. The starting and finishing points were both set at Nanshao Cultural Square. In the men’s urban circuit elimination race, Yang Mingsen from the Shandong team persisted alone until the finish line during the breakaway and outperformed the main peloton to win the championship of the men’s urban circuit elimination race. Hu Haijie and Zi Ze from the Yunnan team won the second and third places respectively.
In the women’s urban circuit elimination race, Zhou Xiaorui from the Heilongjiang Team successfully broke through. Relying on her strong endurance, she withstood the fierce pursuit of the main peloton and won the race by soloing. Zhu Shimeng from the Ningxia Ruibao Cycling Team and Chen Lulu from the Henan Badirui Cycling Team won the second and third places respectively.
On the fourth competition day, the men’s and women’s individual races, which are the longest and most challenging events in this stage of the tournament, took place. In the men’s individual race, many riders attempted to break away, but all were caught up by the main peloton. Finally, Wang Ruidong from Tianjin Feige Cycling Team stood out among many top riders with his excellent sprinting ability and crossed the finish line first, winning the men’s individual race championship. Li Xi from Yunnan Team and Ding Peng from Ningxia Ruibao Cycling Team won the second and third places respectively. In the women’s individual race, due to weather conditions and for the safety of the athletes, the event was suspended according to regulations when it reached the second half of the赛程.
One of the highlights of the events on this website is the simultaneous holding of the “Changping International Road Cycling Challenge”. From May 16th to 17th, more than 1,900 cycling enthusiasts participated in various categories of the mass group. The event provided amateur cyclists with the opportunity to have zero – distance contact with the professional track, which greatly promoted the popularization and development of cycling among the masses, and perfectly interpreted the connotation of Changping as a “sports city where the needs of all age groups can find answers”.
The cycling history of Changping is engraved with the legends of glory and innovation. In 1990, during the Beijing Asian Games, China’s first international – standard cycling venue was completed here; in 2008, during the Beijing Olympics, the Changping track became the core section of the road cycling event; in 2019, the Huilongguan – Shangdi section of China’s first dedicated cycling lane was opened to traffic.
In recent years, Changping has been continuously promoting the construction of a “cycling-friendly city” and has become a “must-ride place” for cycling enthusiasts. This year is also the second year of the International Road Cycling Challenge around Changping. The track of this race combines natural scenery, history and culture, and urban landscape. The organizing committee will adhere to the concept of hosting a “wonderful, professional, green, and safe” event, and make every effort to provide service and support to present a well-organized, fair, and excellent sports event.
With the successful conclusion of the 2026 China Road Cycling League (Beijing · Changping) and the International Road Cycling Challenge around Changping, the flames of the China Road Cycling League have not subsided. The cyclists will carry the experience and confidence they gained in Changping and head to Liquan, Shaanxi (from May 28th to June 1st). Let’s look forward to the cyclists continuing to gallop on the track and achieving even better results in the upcoming season.
